Railways will run the Oxygen Express to address the lack of oxygen across the country. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal told the media that liquid medical oxygen and oxygen cylinders will be delivered by trains across the country. Soon these trains will run.

The Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra governments had asked the railways to consider the possibilities of transporting liquid medical oxygen. Officials said that the empty tankers would start arriving at Vizag, Jamshedpur, Rourkela, and Bokaro on Monday to get oxygen from Maharashtra.

Delhi: Kejriwal seeks help from Center

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to reserve 7000 beds for Corona patients and provide oxygen immediately. There is a shortage of oxygen and remodeling in Delhi. He said that ICU beds are limited in Delhi. Oxygen and ICU beds are rapidly decreasing.

Madhya Pradesh: Lack of oxygen becomes fatal

At Shahdol Medical College here, 12 Kovid patients died on Saturday due to low oxygen supply. All were admitted to the ICU. A few months ago in Ujjain, oxygen cylinder, which is available for Rs 4,200, is not available even after giving Rs 15,000. Earlier, on April 15, 5 patients died due to a breakdown of oxygen supply due to a malfunction at the liquid plant in Jabalpur.

Uttar Pradesh: Demand at Lucknow PGI rises 10-fold

The situation is bad in many big cities including the capital Lucknow. Hospitals do not have space. The families of patients admitted to private hospitals are carrying oxygen cylinders themselves. There are long queues outside the oxygen factories. Lucknow PGI used to consume 50 cylinders every day, now 500 is being charged. According to the makers of oxygen cylinders, earlier they used to prepare 1200 cylinders every day, now there are 1900. Still lacking.

Maharashtra: Oxygen is being demanded from other states

On April 8, 34,100 patients were on oxygen support in the state. By the end of April, this figure could reach 9 lakhs. If this happens, there may be a lack of oxygen. Maharashtra is trying to get 30-50 metric tonnes of oxygen from Gujarat and 50 tonnes from Chhattisgarh. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray says that he tried to talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for oxygen supply, but he was busy campaigning in Bengal.

Rajasthan: Shortfall in largest Kovid Hospital

RUHS, Rajasthan's largest Kovid hospital, Jaipur, has 1,700 oxygen cylinders working and a backup of 1,500. More than 100 patients are admitted here every day. At the same time, more than 700 patients are on oxygen support. The need here is more than 800 cylinders. A plant has been installed at RUHS to fill liquid oxygen coming from Bhiwadi in cylinders. It has 1,700 cylinders of oxygen ready at all times.

Punjab: Only 25% of oxygen beds are filled

There are 7 medical oxygen-making units in Punjab. Here 80 metric tons of oxygen is prepared. Apart from this, 140 metric tonnes of oxygen come from Himachal, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. Currently, there is a demand for 100 metric tonnes of oxygen in Punjab. At present, only 25 percent of oxygen beds are filled in the state. Oxygen plants have been set up in large government hospitals.
