Till now no player of Haryana has won a medal in this Olympics. But their medal hope has been raised by reaching the semi-finals. Deepak Poonia, a wrestler from Chhara village (Jhajjar), drinks the milk of a desi cow since childhood.

Father Subhash thinks that drinking the milk of desi cow does not keep laziness. The body remains agile. This was also seen and Deepak won the quarter-final match by showing agility like a cheetah in the match.

Deepak, who has qualified for the Olympics in the 86 kg weight category, is not even consuming ghee for six months to prevent weight gain. Being a vegetarian, he consumes only green vegetable soup and pulses water regularly.

Wrestler Deepak's father Subhash shared his experiences. Father Subhash says that 18 bighas are farming. Years ago he used to sell milk. He could not progress in sports himself, but became obsessed with making his son a wrestler. Stopped selling milk. Only five-year-old Deepak was sent to his friend PTI Virendra in the village arena in the morning.

Waking up in the early morning for exactly 4 years, he himself would go to take the son to the arena. This became the routine of the evening as well. After four years, the son read the dream in his father's eyes and started working himself.

Why Father Made the only son a wrestler

Subhash's two elder daughters Manisha and Pinky are married. Regarding making the only son a wrestler, he said that relatives and villagers would ask him to do some other business. But father Subhash did not listen to anyone.

There was also a son at Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi. A year and a half ago, coach Virendra Arya, who taught wrestling in Chhatrasal, has opened an arena in Narela. Since then, Deepak has been learning finesse by staying there. He also said that he saw financial crisis. But the son was never allowed to feel it.

It also said that we have left the son's hard work and the decision on God. Hoped that the son would win the medal.

When Deepak kept eating parathas from mother's hands for 8 days

Vegetarian Deepak does not like to eat outside. Father Subhash told that a few years ago, when Deepak went from home, he took parathas from mother Krishna for eight to ten days. The same parathas continued to be eaten with curd and pickle. Did not eat outside food during this time.

Deepak's mother passed away last year. Now the father is worried that earlier the mother used to keep breakfast together. No longer a mother, so how would she eat out and have breakfast.
