He told the Chinese president on Tuesday that it was important for Turkey that Vigar's Muslims live in peace as "citizens like China," but added that Turkey respects China's national sovereignty.

According to the Reuters news agency, the Turkish President's Office issued a statement regarding this conversation, in which it was reported that bilateral and regional issues were also discussed between the two leaders.

China accused of harassment

China has been accused of detaining and torturing Muslims from Vigar.

UN experts and human rights groups estimate that more than a million, mainly from Turkish-speaking Vigers and other Muslim minorities, have been kept in surveillance camps in the western Xinjiang region in recent years.

China initially denied the existence of these surveillance camps, but later said they were vocational centers and were created to combat extremism. However, China has denied all accusations of harassment.

According to a statement from the Turkish presidential office, "Erdogan said that it is important for Turkey that the Vigor Turks live in peace and prosperity as equal citizens of China." He also spoke of Turkey's respect for China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Furthermore, Erdogan told Xi Jinping that there is great potential for trade and diplomatic relations between Turkey and China.

The two leaders discussed various sectors, including energy, commerce, transportation, and health.

Turkey raised its voice

Interestingly, there is silence in Muslim countries regarding their brutality against Vigar's Muslims in China. For the first time in 2019, on February 10, Turkey raised its voice against China and said that China has kept millions of Muslims in detention camps. Turkey had demanded that China close those fields. However, after this, the attitude of the Erdogan government also softened on this matter.

Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said China's action is against humanity. Apart from Turkey, no Muslim country in the world had raised its voice against this position of China.

There are many extremist organizations in the name of Islam in Pakistan, but even these extremist organizations hardly make any statement against China.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin-Salman also defended China when asked questions about Muslims held in detention camps in China. Salman had said, "China has every right to take action against terrorism and in national security." Salman called it a fight against terrorism and extremism.

pressure on the Erdogan government

The issue of the detention of Muslims vinegar in China has also arisen in Turkey. Opposition parties have been criticizing the Erdogan government for its relations with China.

After an extradition treaty was agreed between China and Turkey last year, 40,000 Vigar Muslims living in Turkey criticized Turkey's attitude towards China.

Turkey's foreign minister said in March that this agreement is similar to the one Turkey has with other countries. He denied that the Muslims from Vigar was sent back to China under this agreement.

In March this year, when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Turkey, thousands of Muslims from Vigor protested against the treatment of Vigor minorities in China.

During this, the protesters raised slogans of "dictator of China", "stop the Vigar massacre" and "stop the camp". Some people also waved blue and white flags of the East Turkestan independence campaign.

Then Turkey also raised the issue of Vigar's Muslims during talks with China's foreign minister.

Opposition leaders in Turkey accused the government of ignoring the rights of Muslims in Vigar for interests other than those of China. However, the government denied it.

In April, Turkey also summoned the Chinese ambassador. Later, the Chinese embassy said it had the right to respond to opposition leaders who criticized China for Vigar's Muslims.

fear of retaliation from China

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has even said that the Western media has sensationalized the case of the Vigar Muslims in China.

Michael Clarke, an expert on Chinese politics at the Australian University, sees China's economic power and fear of retaliation as the main reason for the silence of Muslim countries. Clarke diJo to ABC, "Muslim countries speak out against Myanmar because it is a weak country. It is easy to pressure it internationally. China's economy is 180 times larger than that of countries like Myanmar. In such a situation, forgetting to criticize is more by right own self.

China has invested $ 144 billion in the Middle East and North Africa since 2005. Meanwhile in Malaysia and Indonesia

In this China, it invested $ 121.6 billion. China has invested heavily in Saudi Arabia and Iraq's state oil companies. Along with this, China has promised large investments in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa under its ambitious Belt One Road plan. China has also made a deal to invest heavily in Iran.

Apart from America, countries in Australia and Europe have been talking about the atrocities of Vigar's Muslims in China, but Muslim countries believe it is better to remain silent.

Pakistan is silent on Vigors, vocal on Myanmar

In several interviews, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was asked why he did not speak out about the atrocities committed against Muslims in China, and he remained unusually silent. The cricketer-turned-prime minister of Pakistan, Imran, had said that he didn't know much about this. On the other hand, Imran Khan has condemned the atrocities committed against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

The friendship between Pakistan and China is well known. China is investing $ 60 billion in Pakistan under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. On the other hand, China also has billions of dollars in debt to Pakistan. Third, Pakistan sees China as a strong partner against India in the Kashmir dispute. In such a situation, Pakistan considers it correct to remain silent against the Muslims of Vigar in China.

Muslim-majority countries around the world, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan have been silent on the whole matter. On the other hand, these countries have spoken out by condemning the violence in Myanmar against Rohingya Muslims.
